This range of machines is designed to carry out high production machining processes which cannot be performed on a lathe but require auxiliary operations and have demanding requirements of production and cycle time.
This type of special machines is configured according to the customer’s production requirements and can include equipment for turning, threading, boring, finishing, verification and selection of the workpieces. The machine is supplied complete with the necessary load and unload systems.
The handling equipment is a modular design which allows for a greater range of adjustment for component diameter and length and to include or eliminate sub processes.
The objective of this type of machine is to complete the machining process on a single machine. This machine is adjustable and flexible but still maintains a capacity for very high production. It has a wide range of possible component diameters from 20-100mm with a maximum length of 2 metres.
Configuration
The machine is configured to suit the machining operations to take place (turning, threading, boring etc) whilst at the same time the feeding, loading and unloading processes are designed and integrated into the machine process. Wherever possible several operations are undertaken simultaneously in order to give the best possible production performance.
Equipment
Machine equipment depends on the required machining processes. Typical examples of additional operations include:
Cutting
Positioning
Internal – external chamfering
Facing
Internal – external threading
Interior cleaning
Manipulation to component conveyor
Verification
Feeding
Applications
The application of this type of machines is fundamentally high production components of the same family that present variations in their parameters of length, diameter and process and that demands short production times and high quality.
