Configuration

The ‘Maxima’ range of Multi-Slide lathes has 2 machine bed sizes and 2 spindle capacities. The machines have a 3 axis upper slide with the provision for 6 tools of which 3 can be driven. All machines have an 8 station turret slide. The larger 42mm machine also has 2 axes on the turret slide and movement in Z-axis on the 2nd operation to enable simultaneous 2nd op and main op. On the smaller 36mm machine there is an additional single position heavy duty 2 axis slide. All of the machines can be fitted with turret power tooling to 4 stations pick-off unit allowing secondary operations. Cross drilling/milling units can be fitted to all machines. The machines are supplied with either an Interactive Touch Screen PC Control or Multi-Axis ISO Fagor 8070 Control; both systems allowing simultaneous machining with up to3 tools. The machines are complete with parts catcher, coolant tank and swarf conveyor.

Slide & axis configuration  5 Axis and 19 Tools.Simultaneous multi-axis operation with all axes using state-of-the-art high speed servo motors and super precision ball screws with absolute encoder positioning.  High power main spindle with high speed acceleration and optional ‘C’ axis positioning or full ‘C’ axis interpolation with the upper slide for complex machining.

4 TOOL POSITION 2-AXIS 2.ND OPERATION. A motorised pick-off spindle in the turret holds the finished part and is synchronised with the main spindle to give pipless part-off.  The component in the pick-off is then machined with the 4 tool second operation station mounted at the opposite end of the bed to the main spindle.  Motorised tooling is also available as an option in the second op.


   
MAXIMA 6 axes: The lower slide (optional) enables extra turning facility for simultaneous  main operation and 2nd operation machining.

Interactive Touch Screen PC or Multi-Axis ISO FAGOR Control 8070 CNC. It allows the operator to easily create component programs. The processing speed of the control enables the machine to produce the components with fast cycle times.
