General specifications for CNC lathes
The ‘Optima’ range of Multi-Slide lathes enables simultaneous multi-tool, multi-axis machining utilising a sub-spindle, gang slide and upper slide systems. The power and rigidity of the sub-spindle allow a greater division of operations between the main and sub-spindle, thus achieving faster cycle times.
- Total of 6 axes and 22 tool positions
- 4 spindle capacities available - 36mm, 42mm, 50mm and 60mm with corresponding sub-spindles
- 3 axis upper slide with capacity for 8 tools
- 2 axis gang slide with up to 14 tools, 7 for use with main spindle, 7 for use with sub-spindle
- Ability to overlap up to 3 machining operations simultaneously
- Sub-spindle allows the simultaneous machining of secondary operations
- Machines supplied complete with parts catcher, coolant tank and swarf conveyor.
- Machines supplied with Mitsubishi 730 multi-axis ISO control.
- Option of main and sub-spindle ‘C’ axis indexing
- Option of power tooling on gang slide enabling axial milling, off-centre drilling and tapping operations on main and second op
- Option of power tooling on upper slide enabling radial milling, drilling and tapping operations on main op
The ‘Maxima’ range of Multi-Slide lathes enables simultaneous multi-tool, multi-axis machining utilising an 8 station turret slide and upper slide systems and a turret mounted pick-off unit for up to 4 secondary operations, thus achieving faster cycle times.

- 4 spindle capacities available - 36mm, 42mm, 60mm and 65mm
- 3 axis upper slide with capacity for 8 tools
- 2 axis turret slide with 8 positions, 7 tooling positions and 1 pick-off position
- 4 position second operation unit
- Ability to overlap up to 2 machining operations simultaneously
- Ability to simultaneously machine second operations and main operations
- Power tooling on turret slide enabling axial milling, off-centre drilling and tapping operations
- Machines supplied complete with parts catcher, coolant tank and swarf conveyor
- Machines supplied with Mitsubishi 720 multi-axis ISO control
